As a mom of four daughters, I've always loved celebrating life's special moments — birthdays, dance recitals, graduations, achievements, words of encouragement, and all the little milestones in between.

Over the years, I've volunteered thousands of hours (truly, no exaggeration!) in our community. At my children's schools, I've helped organize class celebrations, school socials, fundraisers, and community events, while also serving in a variety of volunteer and leadership roles. I've also had the privilege of serving on the founding board of the Leaside Heritage Preservation Society (LHPS), where I've worked alongside others to help preserve local history, share community stories, and bring people together through education, engagement, and connection.

Somewhere along the way, it dawned on me: creating meaningful experiences, bringing people together, and celebrating life's moments is what truly makes me happy. So I decided to turn that passion into a small business — one focused on helping others mark their milestones, make memories, and add a little extra joy to life's special occasions.

With plenty of encouragement from family and friends, I did it! It felt like the start of a fun new adventure. That's when The Jen X Project was born.

Where It All Began

Before starting The Jen X Project, I spent many years working in television with some of Canada’s biggest broadcasters, including TSN, Discovery Channel, and Alliance Atlantis, where I worked across their digital and specialty channels such as Travel, Animal Planet, HGTV, Slice, and Showcase. During that time, I had the privilege of contributing to incredible productions, major events, and global milestones. Along the way, I met many fascinating and creative people — including my husband, Mike.

After the birth of our second daughter, I faced a difficult decision. As my maternity leave was coming to an end, the idea of returning to television full-time no longer felt right. Instead, with Mike's encouragement, I decided to embrace a new role: stay-at-home mom.

Having worked since the age of 14 — from the local coffee shop to retail, to radio and eventually television — slowing down was never part of the plan. Choosing to become a stay-at-home mom and grow my family was a leap of faith, but 19 years later, I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Along the way, I've taken on occasional production projects and helped with Mike's media company, but my true passion emerged - creating meaningful celebrations and helping others personalize life's special moments.

As a proud member of Generation “X”, (our generation rocks!) the name came naturally. And so, in 2023, The Jen X Project was born!

Today, I get to combine my love of creativity, celebrations, community, and personal connection into something I truly enjoy. Whether it's a birthday, graduation, recital, holiday, milestone event, or just because, I love helping people create memories worth celebrating.
